Ulsteraue

competition 2012, 2nd prize

The future development of the Ulsteraue in Geisa and the collective presentation of city and landscape require a precise analysis of the location's very unique character.

The oppurtunities and deficits of Geisa's structural and scenic elements, as well as it's specific qualities form the basis of our landscape architectural and town planning concept. The (re-)vitalisation of Geisa's historic city potentials and the disclosure of 'lost' spaces are central for our design. The exposed location in the mountains and Geisa's scenic references to the UlsterRiver and the Rhön characterize the city and the future Auenpark along the Ulster.
