Postquarter

competition, finalist stage 1

The Postquarter is a central part of Ravensburg's area around the station and forms a gate-like situation to the facing station building. To the post buildings vis-à-vis of the train station, which originated in the Gründerzeit and are worthy of preservation, a modern annex is added. This newly formed complex will be used as city hotel with gastronomy. Like an older brother, the new facing office building derives from the geometry of the mentioned building ensemble. Together these two L-shaped structures form a passage-like courtyard, which enhances the public transitory space of the station's surrounding.
